ADMISSION OF THE FOREIGN STUDENTS TO THE HIGHER EDUCATION IN POLAND - Foreign students' applications to the Polish higher education institutions may be accepted if the candidates have a diploma, which is equivalent to Polish "matura exam" (in case of Greece successfully passed "Panellinies exams"). The diploma has to be sealed with the "Apostille seal" and translated into Polish. Moreover, the diploma has to include an endorsement that it qualifies for studying at higher education institutes. In case there is no such endorsement it is necessary to have a separate certificate from the Polish Consular Office or other relevant institutions in the candidate's country (e.g. education authorities). Such a certificate should confirm the candidate's qualifications to study at higher education institutes (universities, academies, higher technical schools etc.).
- The candidates submit their documents directly to the chosen university department. It is up to the university's authorities to decide about details of the enrolment process. For details please contact Dean's Offices of the university department you are interested to study at.
- Almost every Polish university has its own website where one can find all essential information for candidates.
- The candidates from the EU member states come to the same rules like Polish citizens while studying in Poland. According to the Polish system of education they can take up studies in the following way:
- a) on the free of charge basis at the state's universities - if they meet all the entrance examinations' requirements established by every university individually;
- b) if they do not meet all the above mentioned requirements they can take up studies in Polish or English being financially burdened, both at state and private universities;
The cost of studies (in case of paid studies) are fixed by every university individually. - Those students who obtain good exams results during their studies have the possibility to receive a scholarship.
- Polish government and some of the universities individually have created facilitation in the enrolment process or by financial support (scholarships) to the candidates of Polish descent.
